Job Description:

The Commercial Relationship Manager provides assistance to customers and prospects in all areas of financial services, concentrating on commercial loans and related products and services. This individual acts as a gatekeeper for these relationships directing customers to other appropriate product and service specialists throughout the company.

Primary Job Functions may include:

  • Focuses the resources of the company to build total customer relationships using banking, insurance, and investment services. Uses experience and knowledge to recommend other small business products such as Treasury/Cash Management services and/or other complementary products offered by third party vendors (i.e., payment solutions).
  • Gathers and analyzes data to assist in the development and building of all types of new loan business for the financial institution.
  • Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities.
  • Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
  • Ensures loan files and systems contain proper signatures, dates, credit grades and other relevant data.
  • Works with collectors and other Loan Servicing Department personnel to resolve delinquent payment issues, credit problems and related situations. Maintains past due status of portfolio at acceptable levels.
  • Meets with and assists potential customers and handles the details to establish new accounts, prepare loan documents, compile necessary financial information, and other paperwork necessary to complete customer loan request.
  • Develops new customer prospects and business for the financial institution. Proactively targets and solicits new business from existing customers and prospects through organized calling and contact methods and counsels customers in sound business practices.
  • Meets sales, cross-sell and referral expectations.
  • Provides relationship management for existing customers meeting customer requests, modification and renewals in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes CRM to record customer contacts, sales, and receive & send referrals.
  • Develops an understanding of LifeStore products and services.
  • Participates as a team player, engaging in promotions, joint calling efforts, bank functions and positively leading others in promoting LifeStore, internally and externally.
  • Assumes and manages an existing commercial loan portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of an in-house training program and/or other approved training program.
  • Effective communication and human resource skills, as well as excellent sales abilities.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of financial institution products and services.
  • Exceptional sales, cross-selling management and organizational skills.
